My work involves the creation of accessories and some clothing – hats, shoes, bags, belts jewellery, corsets, jackets and waistcoats. I have been involved with textiles since the 1980’s, studying constructed textiles at the London College of Furniture. My work evolved to include embroidery, which then became the main focus of my work. Things have now come full circle and I find that I am incorporating more constructed textile techniques into what I do. I was awarded Membership of The Society of Designer Craftsmen in 2001 and a City & Guilds Medal for Excellence in the same year. I teach various levels of Machine Embroidery and a design based Masterclass for experienced stitchers from the Embex Studio in New Milton, Hampshire. I I have written for the American magazines Quilting Arts and Cloth, Paper, Scissors. My first book, ‘Creative Textile Decoration & Machine Embroidery’ was published in May 2006. I
